Canal France International (CFI) has, for twenty five years, been an operator of French Cooperation for media groups in Africa, the Mediterranean, the Balkans, the Caucasus and Asia. As a subsidiary of France Télévisions Group, CFI receives subsidies from the ministry of Foreign Affairs so as to lead a network of partners from the media sector.
On the basis of its previous experience as a television channel, CFI is able to propose responses adapted to the requirements of media operators from the southern hemisphere, whatever the restrictions and working languages.
Coordinated by its Director General, Etienne Fiatte, CFI supports reflection and strategic choices made by partners in their switchover to new digital media.
A unique mission: bespoke transfer of skills
CFI maintains strong long-term relations with media groups who request its expertise in order to support and guide team building and organisation of programming. Professionals at France Télévisions, as well as other media groups such as TV5 Monde, France 24, AFP, Canal+ and Rue 89, all provide training.
CFI relies on historic proximity with its partners in order to identify requirements and to evaluate their desire to make a commitment towards sustainable solutions for companies. Operational management at CFI offer advice and consultancy in addition to specific workshops.
This permanent exchange of skills aims at bolstering the efforts of CFI partners, leading to consolidated autonomy and improved competitiveness.
