Meeting with the Libyan Minister for Culture
Further to an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister for Culture and Civil Society in Libya's transitional government, Abdurrahman Habil, is visiting Paris from 19 to 25 May 2012.
Accompanied by Etienne Fiatte, Managing Director of CFI, he will be meeting Rémi Pflimlin, President of France Télévisions on 22 May. CFI has also set up meetings with Mathieu Gallet, President of INA, Philippe Massonet, News Director at AFP and Robert Holloway, Director of the AFP Foundation, as well as Alain de Pouzilhac, President of the AEF (Audiovisuel Extérieur de la France).
Following on from the conference organised by CFI in Benghazi last month ("From war journalism to journalism in peacetime " ) and the training course for several Libyan journalists from news agency Aroos Al Bahar in partnership with the AFP Foundation, this visit heralds the development of cooperation projects between CFI and Libyan media.
