Markets and competition

The African audiovisual landscape is today undergoing rapid development. Opening up of media in many countries is leading to the appearance of private channels and vast distribution of foreign satellite channels which are accentuating competition.
These rapid developments are leading to entirely new expectations and trends with television viewers. They additionally place professionals in the television sector face to face with new challenges.
In the framework of its role as a stakeholder in audiovisual cooperation, CFI is involved in assisting the opening up of markets, the promotion of TV programmes and assistance in audience surveys for audiovisual media in French-speaking Africa thanks to the Africascope project.
