Sporting events
With Africa, CFI is once more broadcasting programmes. This was the case during the 2010 Football World Cup where the low capacity of satellites in Africa led to a transmission mechanism which could ensure secure broadcasting and distribution to 85 channels.

CAN 2012: beyond the event
Eagerly awaited throughout the continent, the official kick-off for the African Cup of Nations (ACN) took place on Saturday, with Equatorial Guinea playing Libya in the opening match.
This 28th edition is being hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea from 21 January to 12 February 2012.

Overview of the CFI-AUB organisation in South Africa
In full agreement with FIFA and AUB (African Union of Broadcasters), CFI is focusing on the very special appeal of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, namely that the for the first time ever it is being staged in Africa, where it will be broadcast live by African journalists and television.

CFI and how journalists are preparing for the 2010 FIFA World Cup
In April 2009, 10 French-speaking African television journalists from Burkina Faso, Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo were invited to attend a first training workshop in France, organised in partnership with the French Professional Football League (LFP), with the support of Canal+ Horizons.

Two sports directors, George Lomotey, from Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and Sergio Chitsembe, from Televisao de Mocambique (TVM), have their sights on the forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup. Their assignment: to coordinate the African Broadcasting Center.
World Championships in Athletics in Berlin 2009 : spotlight on coordination
Kavin Tapesar, sports journalist at the MBC (Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation) is in charge of coordinating the journalists, technical staff and the mobile control room, as well as putting his talents to conducting interviews in the post-event interview area for broadcasting in French and English.
