CFI supports media in preparing and covering major political, social and economic events. By way of example, during elections, CFI is able to provide training to people in the media so as to ensure unbiased and neutral information to electors. Allowing people to understand the manifestos of candidates appears to be a very complex operation in some countries. CFI offers the keys to allow journalists to prepare interviews, organise debates an cover election evenings.

In the run-up to the presidential elections in Mali,the first round being scheduled for 29 April 2012, CFI is organising a seminar for 50 Malian journalists working for the press or TV, from 10 to 18 February in Bamako.

In the run-up to decisive elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo in November 2011, Canal France International (CFI) is stepping up its action for local media.
