Promoting heritage
CFI is committed towards promoting audiovisual heritage in favour of local productions. The agency assists public radio and television in outlining a policy to safeguard and promote their archives. This issue is additionally shared by the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs, and falls within the framework of the archive image plan.

Iraqi memory at the heart of Doku 7
Launched in 2007 by the organisation Alterdoc, Doku is a workshop on documentary film catering to young Iraqi directors of all origins. CFI has been supporting this project since 2011.
Algeria: 2nd session of the "Côté courts" workshop in Bejaïa
The 12 Algerian writer-directors selected for the Côté courts project furthered the development and writing of their short fiction films at a session held from 26 to 31 August 2012. This project launched by CFI and the association Project’Heurts first got off the ground in June.
The Way from Tahrir #2, follow up of the Egyptian web documentary
In October 2011, 12 journalists gathered in Cairo for a 4M workshop built the first Egyptian web documentary. They met up again in March 2012 to carry on with their work.
CFI raises exceptional funds of €300 000 to boost UNESCO's actions to support the media
Facing a 22% cut to its budget following the United States' decision to withdraw funding, UNESCO had no choice but to sideline a major part of its commitments in October in a bid to save 35 million dollars.
First seminar for partners in English-speaking Africa

Cooperating with English-language TV channels: the Plan Images Archives scheme
CFI commits to TV partners through its project to preserve and leverage archives in East Africa.
Training course on producing documentaries in Pakistan
Pakistani general-interest TV channel HUM TV has called on CFI to upgrade its journalists’ grasp of writing, shooting and editing short documentaries. Three workshops were conducted in Karachi between 16 October and 5 November 2010, led by Auberi Edler, author-director and Marc Delassaussé, editor. The outcome: the journalists produced three top-quality documentaries: Adhay Adhoory, The Last Dancer and Janu.
2nd seminar for TV partners in Portuguese-speaking Africa
Building on the success of the first round table for directors of TV channels in Portuguese-speaking Africa, in Sao Tome and Principe in 2009, CFI organised a second seminar on 8 and 9 July 2010, in Maputo (Mozambique), to foster sharing and discussion between these TV channels.

Since 1996, CFI has had five Portuguese-language TV partners in Africa: TVM (Mozambique), TPA (Angola), RTC (Cape Verde), TVS (Sao Tome and Principe) and RTGB (Guinea-Bissau).
