Promoting heritage
CFI is committed towards promoting audiovisual heritage in favour of local productions. The agency assists public radio and television in outlining a policy to safeguard and promote their archives. This issue is additionally shared by the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs, and falls within the framework of the archive image plan.

The Way from Tahrir #2, follow up of the Egyptian web documentary
In October 2011, 12 journalists gathered in Cairo for a 4M workshop built the first Egyptian web documentary. They met up again in March 2012 to carry on with their work.

Facing a 22% cut to its budget following the United States' decision to withdraw funding, UNESCO had no choice but to sideline a major part of its commitments in October in a bid to save 35 million dollars.

CFI commits to TV partners through its project to preserve and leverage archives in East Africa.
Training course on producing documentaries in Pakistan
Pakistani general-interest TV channel HUM TV has called on CFI to upgrade its journalists’ grasp of writing, shooting and editing short documentaries. Three workshops were conducted in Karachi between 16 October and 5 November 2010, led by Auberi Edler, author-director and Marc Delassaussé, editor. The outcome: the journalists produced three top-quality documentaries: Adhay Adhoory, The Last Dancer and Janu.
2nd seminar for TV partners in Portuguese-speaking Africa
Building on the success of the first round table for directors of TV channels in Portuguese-speaking Africa, in Sao Tome and Principe in 2009, CFI organised a second seminar on 8 and 9 July 2010, in Maputo (Mozambique), to foster sharing and discussion between these TV channels.
CFI’s TV partners in Portuguese-speaking Africa
Since 1996, CFI has had five Portuguese-language TV partners in Africa: TVM (Mozambique), TPA (Angola), RTC (Cape Verde), TVS (Sao Tome and Principe) and RTGB (Guinea-Bissau).
In Mozambique: an ongoing relationship with TVM
Since 2005, CFI has regularly conducted cooperation initiatives with the Mozambique state TV channel.
Protecting and Promoting Archives in Kenya : interview with Monica Waceke, Programme Director at the KBC (Kenya Broadcasting Corporation)
As part of the Plan Images Archives scheme initiated by the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE) in 2003, CFI launched the “Protecting and Promoting Archives” project for the state TV channels in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania on 15 September, in Nairobi. This initiative, scheduled to run over 18 months, aims to put forward new technical and strategic directions for these TV channels.
